I engaged in a joyous conversation, briefly, about a year ago, when I rode as a passenger, with a wonderful man. He offered me a Lyft ride from the train station, as the train was how I commuted from mom’s in Santa Rosa, to my new home of Peteluma. In so doing, he learned of both my love of trees, my critical Traumatic Brain Injury assumedly…though I can’t distinctly remember (shocking!) My proclivity to share of my injury as well as his kind action of routine card delivery, does support this conjecture. He was aware too, of my fresh inhabitance of Petaluma at that time & therefore, my need & want (observing is a fervent love of mine) to explore -> discover as well as my love for trees!
As a result, he creates these wonderful tree maps for me. They prompt exploration, my fascination with trees being the catalyst. The routine delivery is illuminated by the season, on the above card, being delineated.
He simply places the latest tree map in my mailbox, covertly, which exists many houses away from mine, within our slight community. Resultantly, this joy inducing morsel is a total surprise to me, each time! To broach my mailbox and find this thoughtful, artful card, based upon a natural adoration of mine, sheds light upon my day. Once procured, this felt lightness, infiltrates my step & MOST INFLUENTIALLY offers me an amazing tree-centric scavenger hunt to take part in!
Supremely valuable, is the never-ending joyfulness prompted each time I harken back to receiving these cards. I’ll rightfully admit, resulting from my drought in serotonin, dopamine, endorphins…externally provoked joyousness is needed & so incredibly appreciated 🤩
