Happiness is a choice
One that once came naturally
Now obtaining it requires conscious choice
Today I was enabled to do so
By a neighbor whom I ran into
He offered me an example of his method
His practice is to find 1 thing
Each & every day
That inspires personal joy
I find this custom ideal
As it fosters identification & appreciation
Today I appreciate the blooming Black-eyed Susans
