In order to halt the spread of the Global Corona Virus pandemic, preventative measures are advised by individual public officials, as well as the CDC itself.
I was reminded that I’m not alone in feeling lonely today, as a result of speaking with my local barista. I was drawn to him, as a result of his coffee house offering coffee & baked goods to customers, via an outdoor window: genius!
It’s such a joy to bask in the sun, enjoying an iced late (my personal preference :), despite the tremendous abnormality inherent in our lives currently. This evokes remembrance that life’s simple pleasure are still available to us & haven’t lost their touch!
People worldwide are finding ways of sharing joy, in spite of this isolating trial. The creative ways that individuals are facilitating connection, while maintaining a safe distance from one another, is a beautiful reminder of peoples’ natural call to congregate, as well as humans’ ingenuity.
Friends lift our spirits! Their presence is essential to our mental well-being.
In Italy, for instance, I’ve read on CNN, that neighbors are joining in song together, through windows, as well as when standing on their verandas.
Noted by BBC: In Cornwall, UK, Becky Wass created the below postcard to distribute to her elderly neighbors:

& I can speak knowingly to my neighbors’ coming together here in Bellingham to raise each-other’s spirits. Living in a socially active neighborhood is wonderful – always – but particularly in this time of mandated social isolation.
It’s quite common to see a neighbor in passing (everyone walks here!) and therefore be able to say hello and briefly check in with them (from across the street) = ask of their current endeavors & prospective excitements.
Amongst good people, joy can always be enabled!
