I learned about 10 years ago, that the interaction inherent in customer service, beautifully balances my solitary career of free-lance writing, I adore social interaction, as well as helping others to obtain what it is that they want. Particularly, I find customer’s satisfaction extremely rewarding. Providing customers with knowledge about the products that we offer, in order that they’re enabled to make an appropriate selection, satisfies both parties.
Alternatively, my free-lance writing, which offers articles designed to inform or explain, necessitates entirely solitary composition. Words being directed at me, while I’m composing a piece, means that the 2 communications can easily be confused.
Imagine: I’m writing a piece about healthy eating, when a friend re-focuses me briefly, to talk of potential plans for this evening. My piece then may read as such: “add the leeks & dancing to your roux…
A lack of interaction, propels singular focus & as a result, the creation of beautiful & thoughtful written art = a full piece.
So, these 2 professions (customer service & free-lance writing) serve 2 of my alternative desires & talents. As fairly universally follows suit, that which I love, I’m good at!
I had to let go of my socializing cash-cow = waitressing, as it’s no longer practical for me to successfully complete the fundamental tasks of this job. Consider a survivor, who had to re-learn to walk, and fell a few times a day, obtaining a job that necessitates balance and fast-walking…Even in my imagination, that combination is disastrous.
But, ideally, when 1 door closes & another opens.
And it did!
No doubt that my prescription for medical marijuana, acted as a sign, of what new service job awaited me. Good thing that I was aware enough of the variety of employment that I need in my life to feel fulfilled, to heed this sign.
Working at a marijuana dispensary, and particularly working on the medical marijuana side, offers me the opportunity to learn more extensively of marijuana’s many & varied alleviation & empowering (if used appropriately & in moderation) properties.
I’m enabled to serve customers well in this position, as a result of the research I conduct.
1 of the owners, when hiring me, shared that the reason he took notice of my application, in particular, was due to my past few jobs that I noted on there, being service oriented. He desires to transformation the medical side of our shop, to resemble a lounge, that features customer service.
So I leave you now, to gladly conduct the aforementioned research.
