“We all desire to find our tribe, a community of those that feel comfortable to us and nurture our journey.” -Daily OM
This blog is about exactly that. I, FINALLY (after 4.5 years since returning to Seattle), feel that I’m accumulating a tribe in my current residential location once again.
I was reminded too (by a friend that I made in SF – Jessie!), that my current tribe, needn’t be local. What with our advanced technology, we’re enabled to communicate with friends & family the world over AND even visualize goods (or evidence of activities) that they’re experiencing.
Being moved, by neccesity, from SF to my parent’s houses on Mercer Island (10 mins from Seattle, by car), WA for 1.5 years, post hospital, + my brief jaunt to live with a thief in Portland (a roomate whom sourced via Craigslist), waylayed finding my current tribe, a long bit.
Now that SanFrancisco has gotten ridiculously expensive, all of my previous tribe members, who I had once lived there with, have moved away. (Some friends have moved to other cities in California, but the 2 friends that I am closest with, have moved to other countries.)
Do to SKYPE, telecommunication and ample time, I finally feel socially fed & content.
