I’ve certainly been warned, by my therapist, who works predominantly with people managing disabilities, that I will likely make many errors. And please believe, that I do. I can still realize frauds fairly instantaneously though, (which is a past talent of mine, I’m glad to have retained) when I experience them (thank goodness.)

I wonder if I invite untruthful others, to solicit falsities to me, due to the fact that I appear much more gullible: my irregular gait, and/or my visible scars, (which I’m still getting used to, not always covering.)

Though everything takes me much longer, I’m constantly improving (due to practice – hence this blog). Others, however, can’t visualize these improvements, as they don’t encounter me frequently enough, to see my sluggish strides.

Therefor, I’ve encountered a thieving roommate in Portland, as well as a massive player, and stranger, who asked me out, outdoors at the Seattle Center.

Good thing, my roommate in Portland, mostly stole pieces of clothing, which I value more than most other items, and so, remember quite well (+ it helps that I am an irregular size and admittedly, choose clothing that’s form fitting.) Therefore, she only attempted to take shirts. And she only took things that appeared valuable (so original) or they were new pieces. So, not much distant memory was required, as these articles, were fresh in my memory, and I’m able to recall much more now.

Before, if ever, (I smelled something fishy about the stranger immediately – he admitted to having a daughter, but mentioned no wife…) I hung out with the player, I got a call from his wife, who said she’d discovered my name + contact info. on her partner’s phone.

Even though there was no reason for her to assume that I was interested in him physically, (there were no messages alluding to this) she shared that she had spoken to many women, who had slept with him. Therefor, understandably, she was concerned.

So, fortunately, I escaped both fraud attempts with minor loses (missing dishes :/ as a result of my former roommate in Portland.)

These attempted insults to my intelligence, have made me wary & motivated, to continually, make improvements.

Regardless if this attempted fraudulence, was due to my injury, it is extra inventive to work hard, as progress will diminish my perceived fragility.
