It seems I’ve repeatedly made a living off of being social = PR & waitressing.
They’re both, essentially, capitalizing on socializing. Well let’s be honest = capitalizing on socializing + serving. Waitressing is at least blatant about this – another word for a waitress/water (I suppose it’s also b/c it’s gender neutral) is server.
PR (public relations) is essentially giving the public some order and peace. Hence, why PR professionals are often employed in crisis management. So yes, truly both waitressing & PR work satisfy goals of maintaining or achieving a certain reputation, but also (and most importantly) a goal is maintaining/establishing order.
It makes sense then that naturally, I’m a social being.
Interesting enough, socializing has become much less of a priority since my accident. I suppose it’s because there’s so much to do (re-learning) & only so many hours in the day. My priorities are (as I obviously think they should correctly be – they are MY priorities, after-all) re-developing my skills (this blog is an excellent example, as I was invited to go out to breakfast with my roomies ((which I certainly wanted to do – they’re very thoughtful, smart & interesting)) Yet, instead, I chose to stay home & write this piece.)
I believe that writing a blog, is good for thought development, practicing story construction + developing & offering supportive content.
