I like to equip my meditation space with a pillow to sit on, as well as a soothing candle to decorate & beautiful plants. + I prefer to have this space to be outdoors, if possible. The plants (both near me & potted, as well as plants in the greater garden) offer a natural flavor to this area that I like to obtain & radiate.
These are the things that make me feel comfortable enough to “zone out “(or in, rather) and close my eyes for a while. I know I’m safe to do so. I now crave a sound, where as previously (pre brain injury) I preferred silence. Now silence invites my giant list of necessary tasks, to reclaim my life, to surface. Instead of thinking of nothing & creating stillness,(& therefore find fulfillment), I think of all the things I must do to re-order my life.
In order to create a meditation space in your home, locate a place where you feel at ease & are unlikely to be disturbed. Therefore, your worries are minimal.
Ounce you’ve identified this place, decide what things you’d like to adorn it with.
As defined by Wikipedia: “The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion,[3] love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration[4]meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.”
Make it your own. After-all, the more time you spend there, the more peace you’ll find.
