Waitressing was how I supported myself financially while writing -> my passion. AND of course, my favorite past time? Traveling. Oh, and don’t let me forget, living where I wanted. But the way I make it more interesting & much more affordable? – in that order – vintage shops. It’s as if you’re in a museum of clothing: every era and style is represented.

My favorite pace to go on trips? Paris. And where did I chose to set up house in the US? Oh, ya know, San Francisco (one of the most expensive cities in the U.S). Yes, I’ll admit, I’m spoiled. But what do I value above all else? A quality life. To me that means great friends, observing natural beauty, music, and adventure. I worked hard for this though! Granted,  I could’ve naturally had a much, much tougher situation. I’m lucky that I’m blessed with the life I have. But serving was the way I supported myself in totality: body & soul. Working in restaurants was where I encountered the most diversity. I got to know my co-workers well, as you talk a fair bit, when slow.

Waitressing not only makes great money, but it attracts wonderful people. You’re never bored. But guess what? Waitressing = remembering stuff correctly (with guest requesting modifiers.) EX: no cheese please? (I doubt a patron would say please ;), that would be strange. So remembering detailed stuff, wile encountering plenty of other info. You have 8 tables in the windows section, for instance, therefor you get 8 sets (tables) of information with various modifiers (changes). -> Now you truly know why w/ all those details, and info., it’s important to write things down (it’s interesting, as I write that ;), I’m thinking that all of my jobs are reliant upon writing.) And on top of all that memory stuff, you must move quickly. To be & stay in good standing with patrons, co workers as well as management, you must be speedy.

Hmmmm… moving quickly & remembering things… Essentially, my two toughest maneuvers at present. My life has changed substantially. Because I stay with my parent (who live in Seattle,) I’m not around most of my friends (the people I’m used to seeing most days). They’re states away. I hear this injury (I’m guessing, because it’s to the noggin,) is depressing, but these circumstances ensure it. I know tholugh, the harder I work the sooner I’ll get to go home. So, that’s what I’ll do (while maintaining, of course, a sense of humor.)
