Magazines mean relaxation to me. Both looking at the gorgeous photos & reading the associated text makes me feel welcome & known. Not only do the magazines I chose appeal to my sensibilities (obviously) they inform me as well, because they offer substance. For instance, the Vogue issue I’m enjoying now not only discusses fall fashions but it also includes tips for how to do your makeup :). I will say, my love of magazines makes me consider my materialism :/. I must defend myself here though. I only enjoy magazines when I need time to relax. And what’s more appropriate for a writer than consuming information?
